Trump announces that seven Iranian ships were destroyed

“Iran has launched a few attacks on non-Project Freedom nations, including a South Korean cargo ship. Maybe it’s time for South Korea to join the mission! We shot down seven small boats, or as they like to call them, ‘speed boats’. They are the only ones left. Other than the South Korean ship, there has been no other damage crossing the strait so far,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The Freedom Project, mentioned by the American president, began this Monday and aims to guide stranded commercial ships to leave the Strait of Hormuz region, almost completely blocked by Iran since February 28.

The US Central Command (Centcom, in its English abbreviation) pointed out that it is providing military support to this operation through guided missile destroyers, more than one hundred Army and Navy aircraft, multi-domain unmanned platforms and 15 thousand military personnel.

The announcement about the operation, made by Trump on Sunday (3), generated a reaction from the Iranian regime: Major General Ali Abdollahi, commander of the Central General Headquarters Khatam al-Anbiya, suggested this Monday that Iran would attack commercial ships that transited Hormuz without coordination with Iranian authorities.
