The US announces a meeting between representatives of Lebanon and Israel on May 14 and 15

The United States Government has announced Thursday a new meeting between delegations from Lebanon and Israel to end the fighting between the Hezbollah militia party and the Israeli Army, which will be held on May 14 and 15, presumably in Washington.

The State Department has indicated in statements to Europa Press that “the talks will take place next Thursday and Friday”, without giving more details and without confirmation so far from the Lebanese and Israeli authorities.

It will be the third time that representatives of the two countries meet in the US capital to try to end the conflict since the beginning of April, when they agreed to a ceasefire, which was later extended.

This truce, however, has not put an end to the launching of projectiles by Hezbollah or the attacks by Israel, which has left more than 2,700 dead and 8,400 injured in the neighboring country since March 2, the day the clashes between both parties were reactivated.
