Gemini learns to write emails better than us, the news

Google has started releasing a significant update to the “Help me write” feature within Gmail, transforming artificial intelligence into a collaborator capable of acting with unprecedented contextual awareness. Thanks to the new implementation, Gemini is now able to connect directly to Google Drive and conversation history to extract relevant information based on the user’s command. This evolution eliminates the need to continually switch between applications to retrieve specific details, automating the insertion of technical data or design references directly into the draft email.

In addition to information retrieval, the system introduces advanced stylistic customization. The algorithm no longer limits itself to generating generic texts, but analyzes the user’s previous written production to replicate its tone and register. Whether responding to a client or presenting a report to management, the end result tends to reflect the writer’s natural voice, significantly reducing manual revision. The system is designed to manage a wide range of professional scenarios, from collaboration proposals to the management of communications between teachers and parents, ensuring constant formal coherence in every communication context.

Deployment of the new features began on May 5 and will follow an extended release cycle to cover all enterprise and consumer domains. Access is guaranteed for Business and Enterprise subscriptions, as well as for private users enrolled in the Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra plans. For system administrators, the option is active by default if Gemini features for Workspace and access to artificial intelligence for Gmail are already enabled, allowing immediate integration into daily workflows without the need for additional configuration.
