Now the Iranian Football Federation says on its website that it has decided to participate in the games if the conditions set by the federation are fulfilled.

“We will participate in the Games if the host countries take our concerns into account,” says the association.

In addition, the association says that it expects the host countries to take significant security measures around the team at airports, hotels and on trips from hotels to match stadiums.

Iran will play in the initial group G with Belgium, New Zealand and Egypt. The country will play its two opening group matches in Los Angeles and one in Seattle.
