Zelensky asks the US to once and for all resolve the prisoner exchange during the truce with Russia

The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has asked the United States to once and for all carry out the exchange of Russian prisoners for Ukrainians that it promised to resolve during this three-day truce between kyiv and Moscow, which ends this coming Monday.

“We continue our contacts with the American side regarding guarantees for the implementation of the agreements recently reached and announced by the President of the United States,” Zelensky explained in a message posted on social networks.

The Ukrainian president has confirmed that Ukraine is finalizing its preparations to release 1,000 Russian prisoners and receive 1,000 of its fighters. kyiv has already delivered its list to the Russian side and now it is the turn of the United States, which “took responsibility for guaranteeing” the exchange.

“Therefore, we hope that the American side will play an active role in ensuring its compliance,” Zelensky asked.
