Sven Jablonski will referee the 83rd DFB Cup final between defending champions VfB Stuttgart and record winners Bayern Munich on May 23rd in the Berlin Olympic Stadium. This was announced by the German Football Association. For the 36-year-old, it is the first final of this competition in which he will officiate as a referee.
Jablonski made his Champions League debut this season and refereed most Bundesliga games, including the classic between Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern. “It is a great honor to be able to lead this final. For us as a team, the DFB Cup final is an absolute highlight and we are really looking forward to a special football evening in Berlin,” the man from Bremen was quoted as saying.
