Due to the 8200 scandal, Microsoft Israel was transferred to the leadership of the headquarters in France

According to Globes, Haimovich’s resignation was the result of a review conducted by Microsoft’s global leadership in connection with the Israeli unit’s work with security forces over concerns about violations of the corporate code of ethics.

Along with Khaimovich, several managers from the public sector department also left their posts. Microsoft Israel was left without a CEO, and, according to Globes, management decided to temporarily transfer management of the company to its French division (Microsoft France).

Claims against the leadership of the Israeli unit relate to the lack of transparency of activities and violation of the terms of the user agreement on the part of the IDF, and primarily the military intelligence unit 8200, which created legal and regulatory risks for the company in Europe.

Since Microsoft is not a member of the official government cloud project Nimbus, the use of its infrastructure by the Israeli military is partially carried out from servers located in Europe.

It should be noted that in recent years the IDF has been gradually reducing its use of Microsoft infrastructure and software.
