UK imposes sanctions against 12 individuals and organizations linked to Iran

The UK on Monday, May 11, expanded its sanctions list to include 12 individuals and organizations involved in hostile activities in the interests of Iran, Reuters reports.

The sanctions are aimed primarily at the “Zindashti criminal network,” a group operating under the leadership of Iranian drug trafficker Naji Zindashti in the interests of Iranian intelligence. According to Western intelligence agencies, this network is involved in the murders and kidnappings of Iranian dissidents in different countries of the world, and also provides financial services in the interests of the Iranian regime. Exchange offices and financial intermediaries were also sanctioned.

The sanctions include asset freezes, a ban on entry into the UK and removal from company management. Iran has repeatedly denied involvement in such activities on the territory of other states.
