Central Bank of Israel: in the 1st quarter of 2026, 10% fewer apartments were sold than in the same period a year earlier

Compared to the previous three months, October-December 2025, the number of transactions increased by 1.7%, however, after seasonal adjustment, the Central Bank recorded a decrease of 5.5%.

New apartments accounted for 36.3% of transactions – about 8,110 apartments, of which approximately a quarter were sold under government subsidized programs. Compared to the previous quarter, sales of new apartments decreased by 6.9%, and in annual terms – by 13.3%.

About 14,240 apartments were sold on the secondary housing market, 63.7% of all transactions. In annual terms this is 8.1% less.

About 7,250 apartments were sold in March. At the end of March, approximately 85,310 new apartments remained unsold.
