US President Donald Trump said he agrees to suspend Iran’s nuclear program for 20 years.
When asked by a reporter whether a 20-year suspension of the program would be enough, Trump replied: “20 years is enough. But the level of assurance on their part has to be high. It really has to be 20 years.”
In the past, Trump has pressed Iran to agree to permanently stop enriching uranium, saying he doesn’t want to leave the problem to a future president.
Earlier, Iranian media associated with the regime said that the American initiative to end the war was rejected by Tehran as a de facto demand for surrender.
Press TV reported that the US proposal would mean “surrendering Iran” to the “excessive demands” of Donald Trump.
Iranian state television announced that Tehran had rejected American terms for resolving the conflict and declared its “full readiness” to defend its nuclear facilities.
