The head of the Moldovan Broadcasting Company resigned because the Moldovan Eurovision did not give enough points to Romania

Moldovan the director of the public broadcasting company has resigned because of the criticism received by the country’s Eurovision board.

Director of Teleradio Moldova Vlad Turcanu announced on Monday at a press conference that he was leaving his post because the Moldovan viceroyalty did not pay enough attention to neighboring countries Romania and Ukraine.

The Moldovan jury gave Romania only three points and left Ukraine’s song completely unscored. In the public vote, Romania received a full 12 points from Moldova, and Ukraine, as the second most popular, received ten points.

Țurcanu says that as leader he is primarily responsible for the voting result. He says he avoided giving instructions to the council, according to Moldovan news media The Guard newspaper.

Țurcanu considers the result of the council’s vote “an exceptionally serious matter from our point of view”.

“The jury did not take into account the sensitive issues between the Republic of Moldova and our two neighbors,” says Țurcanu.

By resigning, Țurcanu wants to send a message that Moldova’s fraternal relations with Romania, as well as gratitude and respect for Ukraine for its daily sacrifice, remain unchanged.

Ukrainian the viceroyalty gave the Moldovan song eight points. In the public vote, the Ukrainians put Moldova first. Moldova received ten points from the Romanian team and twelve from the public.

Representative of Romania Alexandra Capitanescu published on the Facebook page of Wiwibloggs, which follows Eurovision commentin which he thanked the Moldovan public for their support. He also said that he is not angry with the Moldovan Rada, and that it is not normal to hold the entire nation responsible for the decision of seven people.

Romania finished third in the final of five, Moldova was eighth and Ukraine ninth.
