Yvelines: Pentecost mass live on France 2 in front of 14,000 young Catholics in Jambville

The village of Jambville (Yvelines) multiplies its population by 20 this weekend. The town, which houses the immense property of the Scouts of France in its castle, hosts the traditional “Frat” for the Pentecost weekend. This religious gathering, a sort of light and festive pilgrimage, will bring together nearly 14,000 middle school students and teenagers from many dioceses of Île-de-France. It is one of the largest meetings of young Catholics in France.

Welcomed in optimal security conditions, sleeping in tents, playing games and meeting around large lively tables, the teenagers will celebrate the Christian faith for several days. Their program will be interspersed with prayers, musical scenes, testimonies and discussions, etc.

“The Lord’s Day” under a huge marquee

The highlight of this lively weekend will revolve around the Pentecost mass on Sunday morning. Thousands of children will pray in unison under a huge marquee set up for the occasion. This unifying moment, impressive for those who discover it, will be broadcast live by the cameras of the “Jour du Seigneur”, the Sunday program from France 2 broadcast at 11 a.m. More than 75 years old, this program attracts on average between 600,000 and 700,000 viewers every Sunday and offers the opportunity to follow mass in a different city each week.
