Gabbard has already notified this to Donald Trump and his last day of work will be June 30. “Unfortunately I must resign, effective June 30. My husband Abraham has been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer,” Gabbard wrote in her resignation letter.

Although it had long been relegated to a marginal role, also excluded from the briefings on the Venezuela operation, Gabbard stood her ground and publicly praised Trump, trying to appear loyal to him and save her job. But in recent weeks, after a change in government, everyone was asking the same question: and when will it be Tulsi’s turn? Gabbard remained inside the system, but not too long. Loyal to the tycoon but no longer with great enthusiasm.

In another era, this ambiguity would have been read as depth. In the contemporary Washington ecosystem, however, it had become suspicious. And so Gabbard ended up moving in an intermediate space, where admiration and distrust coexist without ever canceling each other out. It is there that his political character was best defined: not in the stability of membership, but in the constant tension between belonging and rupture. In the end, rupture prevailed.
