La Jornada: Monumental work in the GAM obtains a Guinness record

Yesterday, Mexico achieved the Guinness record for the largest historical mural made with a brush in the world, an artistic work that pays tribute to the country’s football passion and cultural wealth, in view of the proximity of the 2026 World Cup. It is a work of more than 200 square meters that Mexican artists created in 90 days. It proposes a narrative journey that begins with the pre-Hispanic ball game; goes through the emergence of modern football in 1863; its arrival in Mexico and its evolution, until it became the current global phenomenon. The work is located in the Gustavo A. Madero (GAM) mayor’s office in Mexico City.
