Ghalibaf re-elected chairman of Iranian parliament

Ghalibaf, who is also a brigadier general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, occupies one of the central positions in the power hierarchy of the ayatollah regime after the liquidation of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, the exact state of which remains unclear at the moment.

Publications appeared in the Western media in which Ghalibaf was named one of the possible leaders of the “new” Iran, ready for rapprochement with the West. However, there is no evidence that a representative of the conservative wing of the regime is ready for this.
