“Shalom, Potsdam!”: Festival for Jewish culture in the new synagogue center

The Potsdam Synagogue Center at Schloßstrasse 8 opens its doors from 10 a.m. An announcement from the Jewish community says: “Experience a day full of encounters, creativity and music in our new synagogue center. Immerse yourself in a world full of vibrant traditions, exciting stories and warm hospitality.” The new synagogue center, which opened in 2024, will be used by a total of four Jewish communities.

After a short welcome, visitors can look forward to a program of painting courses, workshops for Jewish dances, samples of kosher cuisine and the “Klezmer Fusion” festival concert at 6 p.m.

Brigitte Meier (SPD), security representative for the city of Potsdam, is expected at the open day. Entry is free. In the announcement, the organizer asks that for security reasons you carry a photo ID with you and do not bring large bags or backpacks to the festival.
