CENTCOM: Publication about the resumption of Project Freedom in the Strait of Hormuz is not true

“Operation Project Freedom has not resumed and US forces are not escorting merchant ships through the strait,” said a post on social media platform X entitled “Fact Check.”

According to the WSJ, the US Navy sailed a Greek supertanker carrying two million barrels of oil through the strait. According to the publication’s sources, in the coming days the US Navy plans to transport more than a dozen ships through the strait, including supertankers and container ships.

It should be noted that the Al Jazeera TV channel quoted a “high-ranking American source” who stated that “information about the US Navy escorting ships in the Strait of Hormuz is not entirely accurate. There is no escort at the moment.”
