Transpotec Logitec 2026, the reference trade fair for transport and logistics in Italy, highlighted how the energy transition represents a complex challenge especially for small and medium-sized businesses, which often lack the administrative and infrastructural structures of large global operators. To maintain competitiveness on national and international markets, the strategic orientation is moving towards the adoption of 360-degree service platforms, capable of simplifying the daily management of fleets through the digitalisation of processes and the integration of heterogeneous supply networks.
Operational flexibility and cost optimization become crucial factors to avoid disruptions in the supply chain. Furthermore, the measurement of environmental impact is no longer considered a simple bureaucratic requirement, but a commercial requirement requested by clients to guarantee the transparency of the entire supply chain. In the following interview, Marco Berardelli, Managing Director of DKV Mobility in Italy, illustrates to Adnkronos Tech&Games the market responses and the innovations introduced to support carriers in this gradual transition path.

How is DKV Mobility concretely helping transport SMEs to face the transition without losing competitiveness?
“For many SMEs, the challenge is not only the energy transition, but also managing the growing operational complexity without having the equipment of large operators available. DKV Mobility’s 360° approach is precisely to simplify this transition through an integrated ecosystem of services: in fact, we provide a multi-energy network that includes traditional fuels, alternative fuels and approximately 1.2 million electric charging points in Europe, supported by solutions for tolls, fleet management and digital tools. The objective is to allow companies to adopt different energy models gradually, maintaining operational continuity, cost control and competitiveness. At Transpotec Logitec we wanted to reiterate precisely this: the transition must be concrete and sustainable even for smaller companies.”
What is the strategic value of the DKV Box Europe 4G and how is the concept of simplification changing?
“Today, simplification no longer just means reducing the number of devices on board, but helping fleets manage the regulatory and technological evolution of transport in Europe. The new DKV Box Europe 4G responds precisely to this need: it supports the EETS setting and combines the main toll collection technologies, so as to allow more linear management of international transits with a single device and a single interlocutor. The transition to 4G is particularly relevant because some national systems are evolving and – for those who work abroad – the priority remains avoiding interruptions, operational stops or additional procedures: simplification, today, means first of all continuity and reliability over time.”
What response are you seeing from the Italian market to the DKV Carbon Monitor and how will the service evolve?
“In Italy, we are experiencing growing interest, because the measurement of emissions is a criterion that is increasingly requested by the supply chain and becomes an element of transparency towards customers and partners. In this context, a tool like DKV Carbon Monitor responds to a very practical need: transforming operational data into useful information for investigating environmental impact and supporting efficiency decisions, without adding administrative complexity. The evolution of the service goes in the direction of making it increasingly usable and integrated into company processes, thanks to the drafting of reports that help not only to report, but also to read trends and identify areas for improvement. Reporting, therefore, increasingly usable and “spendable” externally, with the possibility of more detailed and comparable analyzes over time, transforming the measurement of emissions into a concrete tool for efficiency and continuous improvement.”
