National soccer team: Before the Finland game: All 25 players took part in training

New waiver is clear ahead of time

A few hours before the bus left Herzogenaurach for Mainz in the early afternoon, the goalkeepers around Oliver Baumann, who was scheduled to score against Finland, came onto the pitch first during training. After relaxed warm-up exercises, Nagelsmann continued to prepare the team for the game on Sunday (8.45 p.m./ZDF) against the Northern Europeans in the non-public part.

Nagelsmann had already announced early on that Neuer would be waiving against Finland. The national coach emphasized that there was no need to worry about the record goalkeeper after Neuer’s calf injury. Bayern captain Neuer had to take a break in the cup final against VfB Stuttgart.

Departure for the World Cup country is approaching

After the training days in Herzogenaurach and the test against Finland, the DFB team played another test match. On Tuesday the team will fly to Chicago, where the USA will be the opponent in the World Cup dress rehearsal on June 6th. Two days later the move to the World Cup team headquarters in Winston-Salem in North Carolina takes place. For a successful World Cup, “team spirit is fundamental,” said sports director Rudi Völler.

At the World Cup, the group opponents are Curaçao on June 14th in Houston, the Ivory Coast on June 20th in Toronto, Canada and Ecuador on June 25th in the final stadium in East Rutherford.
