Remembering Melzer: Djokovic lost a 2-0 set lead in Paris

Next surprise in Roland Garros after Superstar Sinner’s exit.

On Friday evening, the old master failed Novak Djokovic in Paris.

The Brazilian Fonseca turned the game against the Serb, won 3:2 in sets and is in the round of 16: 4:6, 4:6, 6:3, 7:5, 7:5.

Before the 4:6 in the fifth set, Djokovic had a break point, but the 39-year-old couldn’t come back.

Incidentally, young hopeful Fonseca is only the second player to have one against Djokovic 0:2 deficit turns. The first was Jürgen Melzer 2010 in the quarterfinals of the French Open.

With the Spaniard Rafael Jodar Another 19-year-old is in the round of 16.
