Lino Červar took over Eurofarm: ‘Handball is a religion here and it will be my last job in my career’

– Č I am lucky to work in Bitola, a city with a huge handball tradition. After eight years, I am returning to my second homeland and will finish my career here. Već I decided earlier that it was time to end, and the most beautiful thing is to do it in a city where handball is a religion. People here love sports, and doing what you love is the greatest happiness. I saw that there was a desire to come to Bitola and I accepted the invitation – Ervar said at the press conference and added:

– I welcome all former coaches and players who played for Eurofarm Pelister, for me the biggest handball name in Macedonia. A difficult task awaits me, the competition is great, but we must maintain a positive attitude. We should praise the competitors, Vardar, which has woken up and is progressing with great strides, as well as Ohrid, which won the European title. We have to be friends and cooperate, but there will be fights on the field. We are one family, we will do our best and justify the trust.

His legacy in Macedonian handball is huge. With Metalurga, he was a multiple champion of the country (four league titles and three cups), with the club he reached the final of the premier edition of the Seha League, and in 2014 and 2015 he led the Skopje club to the quarterfinals of the Champions League. As the coach of Croatia, he won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, the world gold in Portugal in 2003, and other great European awards.
