The president of Fenerbahçe must go to prison. He will also leave the armchair

A Turkish court has sentenced 61-year-old Sadettin Saran, the president of Fenerbahce, to prison for inciting illegal betting, the local Anadolu news agency announced.

Saran was sentenced to two and a half years with a fine of 10,500 euros. One of his brothers received the same sentence. Saran, who was born in Denver, is the 34th president of Fenerbahce, and due to the sentence, he should leave that position in June.

The president of the Turkish giant was accused and sentenced for displaying ads for illegal betting sites on his own company’s video platform. Saran denied the accusations and announced an appeal against his sentence.
