US President Donald Trump harshly criticized the vote. “In a meaningless vote, the House voted, with 4 corrupt Republicans and all Democrats, to limit my war powers, right in the middle of the final negotiations to end the war with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Trump’s post on his Truth social media reads. “Who on earth would do something so unpatriotic? They know where the negotiations are at. The Democrats are fueled by the anti-Trump syndrome. Trump reportedly told aides privately that he would consider ending the ceasefire with Iran if Tehran killed American soldiers, US officials said, insisting that the several-week pause in airstrikes remains in place despite a succession of violent clashes, the Wall Street Journal reports.
