Andoril plans to establish a factory in Israel and is courting a former MA

The founder of the Andoril defense company, Palmer Lackey, is interested in recruiting the former commander of the Air Force, and currently managing partner of the investment fund Ace Capital Partners, General (res.) Amikam Norkin, as the director of Andoril’s operations in Israel – this is what Globes learned for the first time.

In fact, Andoril’s goal is to use the activity model in Israel of huge American companies, such as Lockheed Martin and Boeing, and create a similar activity.

● Former 8200 commander founded a new start-up, and builds on government contracts
● The visit of the founder of the defense giant from the USA which almost led to the purchase of the Israeli Slingshot

The difference is that Andoril’s ambitions in Israel seem more extensive than those of the American giants, who only integrate the Israeli companies in the production chains.

The American company is interested in the fact that, beyond the research and development aspects, a real Endoril plant will be established in Israel.

Land acquisition processes have not yet begun, but the significant goals reflect Laki’s conclusions from a series of meetings held in Israel before the start of Operation Roaring Hari, with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz, Director General of the Ministry of Defense Major General (ret.) Amir Baram, the Attorney General and head of the Budget Division of the Ministry of Defense Brigadier General Nir Weingold, and other senior officials.

Andoril

Field of occupation: A security company that deals in diverse fields, mainly unmanned and autonomous systems, artificial intelligence and interceptors
history: The company was founded in 2017 by Palmer Lucky with four other people, after three years earlier he sold the virtual reality glasses company Oculus to Facebook for $2 billion
data: The company broke a world record in May, when it completed a fundraising round of 5 billion dollars, which reflects a value of 61 billion dollars

Interested in purchasing the start-up Kela

The entry into Israel of the hottest defense company in the world is expected to give a significant boost to the already bustling Israeli defense industry market. As already revealed in Globes, Lucky was interested during his last visit to Israel in the purchase of the Israeli defense startup Kela, but its founders refused the possibility of a sale at this time. In Globes’ ranking of promising start-ups for 2026, published last week, the two-year-old Kela was ranked fourth.

In general, Andoril’s international strategy is based on collaborations with local defense companies, in order to quickly adapt to new markets. This partnership includes working with both large and small companies, from diverse fields of activity. Thus, for example, Andoril maintains a strategic partnership with the German giant Rheinmetall, for the expansion of activity in Europe as a whole.

This partnership deals with two main layers: cruise missiles of the Barracuda series and unmanned aircraft of the Fury model. Barracuda is a series of missiles that Andoril stated from the moment of their launch, that they would be about 30% cheaper than the market price. The series includes three missiles: Barracuda-100, the smallest, is designed for a range of about 157 km, and carries a warhead weighing about 15 kg. It can be launched from a ground platform, or from an aerial platform.

Barracuda-250, the medium version, is intended for targets at a distance of about 370 km, and is capable of carrying a warhead weighing about 45 kg. This version is also intended for aerial and ground platforms. And the third, the largest version, Barracuda-500, is intended for launching from the air only. It carries a warhead weighing more than 45 kg and is designed for a range of about 926 km.

At the same time, Fury is an unmanned aircraft developed by Andoril, and its price is expected to be around 25-30 million dollars – significantly less than the F-35 aircraft. The fifth-generation aircraft, in its version in service with the Israeli Air Force, for example, costs about 80 million dollars – compared to other versions that are priced at about 100 million dollars, and even more.

In Washington, it is planned that the stealthy drone, which has a speed of Mach 0.95 (about 1,160 km/h), is about half the size of an F-16 and is designed to have exceptional autonomy capabilities, will become operational in the ranks of the US Air Force by 2029.

Norkin’s possible entry into Andoril’s operations in Israel may reflect Lucky’s desire to sell aerial armaments and aircraft to Israel. In terms of sales, Israel itself is a small market – even negligible compared to the huge amounts that grow elsewhere.

However, the tag “Combat Proven” in which Israel uses military means on the battlefield, and not just in laboratories or test fields like almost all over the world, beckons to any defense company that wants to improve its sales.

A country where Endoril has already opened a local branch and its strategic partners there are diverse, is South Korea. The American company arrived in Seoul for a joint venture with the national airline “Korea Air”, for the development of autonomous defense systems and joint aircraft.

The aerial medium is just one of many where Andoril works. For the maritime medium, whether on the surface of the water or in the deep, the American company combined arms with Hyundai Shipyards to develop unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and unmanned underwater vehicles (UAVs).

Enter with a storm and low prices: Andoril’s action strategy

Local partnerships: Joining forces with local defense companies to penetrate new markets quickly
Global deployment: Establishment of branches and representative offices in countries with high potential for R&D and sales
Discounted products: Developing autonomous systems and unmanned tools that are advanced and cheaper than competitors Identifying markets with growing security budgets and adapting the company’s activities to their unique needs

A subsidiary in Australia and a representative office in Japan

For the growing arena of Asia-Pacific, Endoril opened the subsidiary “Andoril Australia” as early as March 2022, but it is evident that the company’s headquarters in California are carefully examining the growing markets in the world.

This was illustrated last December with the opening of a representative office in Tokyo following the growing Japanese defense budgets. These have already led to a huge deal of 1.2 billion dollars for the sale of the unmanned submarine “Ghost Shark”, which is produced in cooperation with the Australians.

There are even more sophisticated plans: about a year ago, Andoril entered into a tripartite agreement with Singapore and the American company Shield AI, which deals in autonomous artificial intelligence systems, for joint development in the worlds of artificial intelligence. As part of the project, the Singaporeans chose to integrate the Defense Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), and the local air force.

Development of a commercial aircraft for Abu Dhabi

The Andoril branch in Israel will not be the American company’s first significant foothold in the Middle East. Andoril tied up in December 2024 with another American company, Archer, to develop a hybrid VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing) aircraft, which will serve Abu Dhabi in the commercial fields.

In conclusion, Andoril’s huge fundraising – on an unprecedented scale – reflects the confidence in the company’s future. Endoril, established in 2017, is engaged in the development of autonomous weapon systems, aircraft, missiles and AI systems.

In May, the company broke another world record in defense tech, when it completed a fundraising round of 5 billion dollars, which reflects a value of 61 billion dollars.

For the purpose of comparison, Andoril’s previous fundraising, in June of last year, reflected a value of slightly more than 30 billion dollars. The recruitment completed this year is the largest in the field in 2026. Among the prominent names in Endoril’s fundraising is Josh Kushner, Jared’s brother – son-in-law and close associate of US President Donald Trump. Josh Kushner’s company Thrive Capital, together with the prominent venture capital fund Andreessen Horowitz, led the round, which almost doubled the company’s value and brought it to its current level.

The company’s CEO, Brian Schimpf, said that Andoril doubled its revenue to $2.2 billion in 2025, almost doubled its workforce – and moved more systems from the development stage to production than ever before.

Major General (res.) Amikam Norkin’s response was not given until the issue was closed.
