UKMTO: ship attacked off the coast of Oman

The UK Maritime Trade Operations Office (UKMTO) reported the incident, which occurred 7.5 nautical miles south-east of Dahit, Oman. According to the report, the cargo ship was hit from the starboard side by an unidentified shell, resulting in damage to the captain’s bridge.

According to UKMTO, the vessel’s captain reported no casualties and no damage to the environment. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by authorities. Vessels are advised to exercise caution when passing through the area and report any suspicious activity to the UKMTO.
