The son of Trump’s business partner from the UAE bought a London mansion for $250 million

The Holme mansion in the heart of Regent’s Park in London will be sold to 26-year-old Abbas Saghwani, the son of Emirati billionaire Hussein Saghwani, a long-time business partner of US President Donald Trump.

The transaction amount is 190 million pounds sterling (about 250 million US dollars), which makes the mansion one of the most expensive buildings in the British capital.

The Holme, built in 1818 and comprising a 16-dunam private garden in the center of Regent’s Park, was put on the market in early 2023 with an asking price of £250 million.

At the time, the media were quick to call it “London’s most expensive house” because, if the asking price were reached, the mansion would have displaced the 45-room Knightsbridge mansion overlooking Hyde Park, which was sold in April 2020 for £210 million to the founder of the Chinese development company Evergrande, billionaire Xu Jiaying, from the top spot.

As a result, two years after being put up for sale, the mansion was sold for a significantly lower price – £139 million – to the current owners, who are now selling it to Sagwani’s son.

A new record was set this year by British developer Nick Candy’s sale of his home in London’s prestigious Chelsea district for £275 million to British hedge fund manager Sunil Sethi.
