Moana returns: Dwayne Johnson delivers great cinema

Arguably the bravest heroine in Oceania is back! With the live-action adaptation of “Moana,” Disney is bringing one of its most popular animated adventures to the big screen as a spectacular live-action experience. Fantastic islands, roaring waves, lots of humor and stirring music promise a pure cinema feeling for the whole family.

Millions of fans are looking forward to the restart. On July 9th it’s finally time to cast off again for a big adventure! Together with demigod Maui, Moana embarks on a dangerous journey across the ocean to save her home – and in the process discovers once again how much courage she has.

With Catherine Laga’aia, a newcomer takes on the role of the fearless Moana. Returns to her side Dwayne Johnson returns as the quick-witted demigod Maui. Together they face new challenges on the high seas and experience a journey full of spectacular images, exciting encounters and great emotions.

Big feelings, strong songs

Emmy and Tony Award winner Thomas Kail directed the film. The cast also includes John Tui as Moana’s father Chief Tui, Frankie Adams as her mother Sina and Rena Owen as Gramma Tala. The film was shot against the impressive backdrop of Oceania, whose landscapes are particularly impressive on the screen.

Of course, the songs shouldn’t be missing either. Already those Music of the animated film became a catchy tune worldwide – and the live-action adaptation also relies on emotional melodies and new songs that accompany the adventure.
