Construction elevator tips over: Berlin fire department rescues trapped worker in Friedrichshain

The Berlin fire department rescued a trapped worker in Friedrichshain on Saturday morning. A construction elevator collapsed on Voigtstrasse around 8 a.m., a spokesman told Tagesspiegel when asked. According to the fire department, the man was in the elevator.

Around 30 emergency services were deployed to free the trapped worker. He was slightly injured and treated on site by emergency services. A rescue helicopter was also there. This happens automatically with this form of alerting, it was said.

The spokesman could not provide any information about the reasons why the scaffolding elevator fell over.
