Trump ends the ceasefire with Iran and calls its leaders “scum” and “sick people”

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has ended the ceasefire and the memorandum of understanding with Iran, whose leaders he has described as “scum” and “sick people”, in an outburst launched this Wednesday before the press after the US bombings against the Middle Eastern country.

“As far as I’m concerned, it’s over. I don’t want to deal with them again. They are scum. Do you know what scum is? They are sick people. They are led by sick people. And they are vicious, violent people. And if they had a nuclear weapon, they would use it,” he said at a press conference during the NATO summit in Ankara, Türkiye.

Although he has pointed out that the negotiators of the memorandum still “want to negotiate”, he has expressed the opinion that “it is a waste of time dealing with them” because “they are liars” and, after signing an agreement, they do not abide by what was agreed upon.

“They’re crazy. As far as I’m concerned, it’s over,” the White House resident continued, attacking Tehran, recalling that he has “negotiated all his life” and that his job has consisted of “reaching agreements,” but that they are “from a different school” and that “they are cheaters.”

He then stated that “they have harmed their own people” and that “they have killed 54,000 people” for protesting. He also predicted that “no one is going to take power” because “they have no weapons, and “the other side has machine guns and they are killing them,” in addition to the fact that “the press does not report it.”

“But they are bad people. They are bad people. And frankly, I don’t want to waste my time with them. Now, I will let our wonderful panel, the negotiators, continue talking if they want, but I don’t see it clearly. I don’t like these people,” he concluded.

Trump’s statements come hours after the United States Army Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the launch of “strong” attacks against Iran in response to Iranian “aggressions” against ships in the Strait of Hormuz, in a new escalation of tensions around the strategic sea route.

Following this, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has claimed to have “destroyed” 85 US military installations located in Bahrain and Kuwait, as well as shooting down an “enemy” MQ-9 type drone, in its military response to the bombings, which represent a new chapter of tensions after the fragile ceasefire signed on April 8.
