Grigoryan discussed issues of cooperation with the delegation of the new EU mission

Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan today received the delegation of the EU’s new partnership mission in Armenia, led by Stefano Tomat, the commander and managing director of civil operations of the EU External Action Service.

“I welcomed the creation and deployment of the mission in Armenia, highlighting the multilateral support provided by the EU to Armenia in recent years, as well as the measures implemented around the development of capabilities aimed at strengthening resistance,” said Grigoryan’s statement.

It is reported that issues related to further cooperation were also discussed during the meeting.

Yesterday it was reported that the Council of the European Union is launching the European Union Partnership Mission in Armenia (“EUPM” Armenia) within the framework of the Common Security and Defense Policy. The aim of the civilian advisory mission is to support the Armenian authorities in improving the country’s resilience to hybrid threats and its ability to address emerging security challenges, said a statement published on the Council of Europe’s official website.

About a month ago, “Freedom” sources from Brussels were reportedthat the Foreign Minister of Armenia in Luxembourg urged the European Union countries to speed up the steps to support Armenia in the background of the latest Russian restrictions.
