Tour de France: Pogacar won climbing show on National Day

Defending champion Tadej Pogacar has the tenth stage at the Tour de France won on the national holiday and thus took the next step towards his fifth overall victory. The Slovenian world champion won after 166.6 kilometers von Aurillac at Le Lioran won the day single-handedly and thus extended his lead in the overall standings to over three minutes.

Challenger Vingegaard defeated

Double Olympic champions took second and third place on the difficult stage with seven mountain classifications and around 3,800 meters of altitude Remco Evenepoel and the young French star Paul Seixas. The two-time Tour winner Jonas Vingegaard came seventh.

Tour de France: Third stage win for Pogacar

For Pogacar it was already the third stage win in the 2026 Tour and the 24th overall of his career. This puts him close to fourth-placed André Leducq (France/25) in the record list. Former world champion Mark Cavendish (Great Britain/35) won most of the tour stages.

This is how it continues on Wednesday

On Wednesday the sprinters can hope for a mass arrival again. The 161-kilometer route from Vichy to Nevers takes place almost entirely on flat terrain. Only two mountain classifications in the fourth category await the drivers.
