Dani the bear, the symbol of the Qalqilya Zoo, has died and will be stuffed

The administration of the zoo in Qalqilya announced the death of its most famous resident, the bear Dani: “He became a symbol of the zoo, and it is he who is first remembered by generations of visitors.”

Dani lived to be 30 years old, which is significantly longer than the lifespan of a bear, according to the report. The administration attributes this to dedicated medical care. In fact, the lifespan of bears in captivity can reach 50 years.

“To preserve his legacy for future generations and for educational purposes, the bear will be stuffed – according to all scientific principles,” Maan news agency quoted the administration as saying. At the same time, the zoo intends to purchase a new bear.
