Sinner flies to the quarterfinals: beaten Mochizuki in three sets, now challenges Struff

Jannik Sinner advances to the quarterfinals of Wimbledon 2026. The world number one eliminates the qualifier Shintaro Mochizuki (n.151 ATP) and reaches the quarterfinals at the Championships for the fifth time in a row. 6-3 7-6 (0) 6-3, in two hours and 24 minutes of play, the score in favor of the 24-year-old Italian, who will continue with Jan-Lennard Struff (n.74 ATP) the defense of the title won in 2025 in the final against Alcaraz.

The German overcame a two-set deficit to Hubert Hurkacz and then took advantage of the Pole’s withdrawal due to a back problem during the last set. It will be the fourth direct clash between Sinner and Struff. The balance is 3-0 in favor of the South Tyrolean, who has met and beaten the German three times in 2024: Masters 1000 Indian Wells, Masters 1000 Monte-Carlo and ATP 500 Halle.
