Purchases abroad via courier set a record and almost equal all of 2025

According to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec), during June US$ 125 million were imported to through this modality, 73.8% more than in the same month last year and above the previous maximum of US$ 118 million, registered in April.

The growth is also reflected in the cumulative figure for the year. Between January and June, Imports via courier totaled US$643 million, 104.2% more than in the same period of 2025according to a report by the consulting firm Analytica. The amount is already just US$ 251 million below everything imported through this route during the last year, so the market is on track to mark a new annual record.

The courier regime allows the entry of merchandise from abroad through logistics operators with a simplified scheme compared to traditional imports. In recent months, the channel has gained prominence due to the growth of international e-commerce platforms such as Temu, Shein and Amazon, which expanded their presence among Argentine consumers with a broader offer and competitive prices.

Analytica attributed this new bullish trend to a combination of factors. Among them, mentioned the stability of the exchange rate, which favored a recovery of purchasing power measured in dollars. According to the consultant, The registered private salary accumulated an improvement of 21.4% in dollars between November and May, although in real terms it registered a drop of 2.7% in the same period.

Added to this scenario are the regulatory changes implemented by the Government to facilitate this type of operations. Last week, through Decree 604/2026, the Executive Branch equated the tax benefits of purchases made by postal mail with those of the courier system, simplified customs procedures and eliminated differences in treatment between both mechanisms for the entry of goods.

The rule also created a specific framework for commercial exports by postal mail, a modality that until now did not have clear regulation, and deepened the flexibility of the small shipment regime that began at the end of 2024.
