The Turkish opposition leader is creating a new party

“Turkish opposition leader Ozgur Ozel has announced his intention to leave the People’s Republican Party and create a new political force,” Reuters reports.

Ozel made this decision after the decision of the Turkish court in May, according to which the decisions of the last congress of the People’s Republican Party were canceled and the position of the head of the political force was returned to the former presidential candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu.

Ozel hinted today that most of the current deputies of the People’s Republican Party will join the newly created force in the coming days.

“Today we are leaving the chair of the party created by Kemal Ataturk, but not the role of the country’s number one opposition force,” stated Ozgur Ozel.
