A ‘dive’ into Roman Olbia, between archeology and myth

Summer can be an opportunity to reflect on the often forgotten history of the places where we spend our holidays: this is the objective of the round table ‘A dive into Roman Olbia: dialogue on the happy city between history, archeology and myth scheduled for Friday 24 July in the Spazio Frau of the Sardinian city.

The inhabitants but also the tourists will be able to listen to a report from thearchaeologist Rubens D’Orianoone of the greatest scholars of Roman Sardinia, and immerse yourself in the history of what was a restless Roman province two thousand years ago. In the city there is no shortage of evidence of that era, starting from wrecks of two Roman ships sunk by the Vandals which are kept in the Archaeological Museum.

The event is organized by Hub Letteraturain collaboration with the Italyastheromansdid.it website and the CLE Sardinia delegation. The Spazio Frau is located in Olbia in Via Copenhagen, 78 and the appointment is for 7pm. They will also speak Davide Sarsinithe journalist founder of the site ‘Italy as the Romans did’and Salvatore Caligaris, president of Hub Letteratura and regional contact for the Centrum Latinitatis Europae. The moderator will be Daniela Cittadini, curator of the Spazio Frau which she founded with Daniele Frau, great-grandson of founder of Frau Poltrone.
