Unicredit achieves the best result in its history: profit for the half-year at 6.37 billion

Unicredit he made a net profit equal to 2.9 billion in the second quarter of the year (or 3.1 billion net of an extraordinary item in the line of trading income relating to Commerzbank), and equal to 6.37 billion in the half-year, up by 3%. This is, explains a note, “a change of pace marked by the best results in history” of the bank in the second quarter of 2026 and in the first half of this year.

Second quarter revenues amounted to €6.5 billion, up 7% y/y or 11% y/y net of the extraordinary item in the trading income line, with core revenues up 6% y/y, demonstrating strong commercial momentum and strategy and investment results. First-half revenues are up 5% compared to the same period in 2025, or 8% net of the extraordinary item in the trading income line. Extraordinary performance of commissions and net income from insurance management: up 14% Y/Y and 11% 1H/1H, driven by strong growth across various countries and product categories. Net interest income accelerated sequentially to growth of 2% Q/Q, supported by loan and deposit quality growth of 8% Y/Y.

Improves 2026 profit guidance to over 11 billion

Unicredit raises 2026 profit estimates. “The convincing performance in the first half of 2026 leads us to raise our ambition for Group net profit in full 2026 to well above 11 billion euros, or to around 11.5 billion euros excluding integration costs. We set our ambition for 2028 net profit at well above 13 billion, and our ambition for 20230 net profit at well above 15 billion, both ahead of full consolidation of Commerzbank”, reads the note.
