The expert incenses Mikael Jantus

Part of the carrying forces of the wolf gang Mikael Jantunen will move for the next two seasons to the Spanish Real Madrid, which is perhaps the most prestigious basketball team in Europe.

Last season, Jantunen played in the big Turkish club Fenerbahce, with whom he celebrated the league championship and the cup victory. In the Euroleague, Jantunen played 36 matches with a point average of 5.3.

Suomalaištahte’s contract with Fenerbahce was still unexpectedly terminated after the first season. No definite information has been given to the public about the will of which party opened the door.

Earlier in July, Serbian sources claimed that Jantusen’s new address would be Serbian club Crvena Zvezda.

Basketball expert Kristian Palotie in my opinion, the new contract says everything about how good and valuable a player Jantunen is seen in the world.

“Real Madrid is perhaps the most famous European sports club, and getting there is a tough trick. The Spanish league is the best national league in Europe. Last season, Jantunen joined the defending Euroleague champion and now the defending Euroleague finalist,” says Palotie.

“Madrid lost in the final and there’s quite a bit of rebuilding going on there at the moment, because last season was somewhat disappointing for the team by the tough standards. The club has a new coach and there’s sure to be a lot of new players.”

Jantunen’s new club has won the Euroleague 11 times and the Spanish premier league 38 times.

Real Madrid’s ambition is well illustrated by the fact that it hired as its coach Pedro Martinezinwho led Valencia to the Spanish championship last season.

Palotie sees Jantunen as one such player who can help the capital team back to power.

“Even though Jantunen’s contract in Turkey was cancelled, he was immediately followed by a team of Real Madrid’s caliber. That says a lot about his goodness.”

“He’s an extremely high-class role player in any environment and improves other players as well. It’s quite surprising if his skills don’t play a big role,” notes Palotie.

The expert praises that the 26-year-old winger is excellent in rebounding. Palotie considers Jantus an extremely oriented team player who does not stop the ball or force solutions, and constantly does dirty and invisible valuable work on the field.

“Jantunen is constantly giving blows to someone, and it is extremely annoying to play against him. Even if he is not the kind of player who bounces from the gym to the yard or is super skilled with the ball, he brings a lot of things to the field that the team needs to win games.”

Jantunen has developed continuously. Although he is already a top player, he is not yet a perfect basketball player either.

Palotie believes that Jantusen’s development curve will continue in the coming years.

“Because he has played the last two seasons in the Euroleague, there has been little time for training. If and when the body stays in shape through all the matches, the big games will certainly bring new elements to Jantuse’s playing.”

“There will definitely be development in various areas if you play ninety matches in a season instead of forty. You will accumulate a shocking amount if you belong to a team that plays in the Euroleague and the national team in addition to the national league.”

Palotie lists qualities in which he believes Jantunen is still developing through experience.

“Faster identification of situations, in which he is already elite, can always be improved a notch, especially on the defensive end but also in attack. And also such efficiency in ball contact that he is able to make even faster choices and determined performances.”

Jantunen has achieved league championships in Belgium, France and Turkey during his club team career. In the 2023–2024 season, he also celebrated the victory of the European Cup in the shirt of Paris Basketball.

Jantunen the merits would certainly interest the public, but they are only guesswork. Player fees are not available in European basketball unlike in the North American professional league NBA or other major sports.

“However, I can say with certainty that his annual salary is a six-figure sum. I would be surprised if it started with a number one, but it doesn’t start with a six, a six, a six, or a zero.”

Based on Palotie’s estimate, Jantunen’s annual salary is something between 200,000 euros and 599,999 euros.

He says that last year he found estimates on the Internet that Jantusen’s salary in Turkey would have been around 200,000 euros.

Expert believes that the star of Susijeng will get a great screen place in Spain and will do well.

“Unless the body is caught, I dare to say that there is something else wrong with Micke, if the opportunity does not come.”
