“These allegations are absolutely and categorically false”: Actor Jared Leto denies new accusations of sexual assault

Ten women accuse the lead singer of the rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars of sexual assault and harassment in a new BBC documentary.

Actor and singer Jared Leto denied on Wednesday the accusations of sexual assault and harassment made against him by ten women in a new BBC documentary. They say they were victims of the American star between 2002 and 2016.

Two of them accuse him of sexual assault when they were 17 years old. Another explains that the actor threatened her with sexual assault when she was 19. A fourth woman recounts receiving multiple sexually explicit phone calls when she was 16 from the actor, who allegedly propositioned her.

Four more women have come forward with allegations of sexual harassment during phone calls with the lead singer of the rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars. “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life,” the 54-year-old actor asserted in a statement released by his representatives. “These allegations are absolutely and categorically false.”

Nine of the ten women are speaking out for the first time in this BBC documentary titled Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret. This is not the first time the actor, who won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for Dallas Buyers Club, has faced such accusations. In 2025, several other women accused him of sexual assault, notably in an investigation conducted by the website Air Mail. At the time, Jared Leto also denied any wrongdoing.
