Journalist and presenter Constantin Schreiber will leave the Axel Springer media group at the end of the year. He decided some time ago to pursue new opportunities, Schreiber said in a video on Instagram and YouTube. A spokesperson for the media company confirmed the personnel change upon request.
He will say goodbye to Axel Springer at the end of the year and then take on a new role in 2027, the former “Tagesschau” news anchor said. He wrote under the video: “I believe that change in one’s career is always good for continued growth – regardless of how settled one already is in the job.”
In the video, Schreiber described his time at Springer as “very exciting,” especially his time in Israel when the war with Iran broke out. The 47-year-old started working for the media group in September 2025 and initially reported on the Middle East and international hotspots from Tel Aviv and New York.

In April, the company announced that Schreiber would be focusing more on podcast formats and would be working from Germany for family reasons. His home editorial office at Axel Springer is “Welt.” Schreiber has not yet revealed any further details about his “new role.” He intends to comment on it “elsewhere” soon.
