Uefa plans to boycott FIFA competitions

European football’s governing body UEFA plans to boycott all FIFA competitions unless president Gianni Infantino cancels plans to sell his stake in the World Cup, UEFA has announced.

The decision was made at an emergency meeting on Thursday.

According to the newspaper, UEFA’s member countries have made the decision. It is not yet certain whether clubs will participate in a possible boycott.

The crisis meeting is being held in response to FIFA president Gianni Infantino’s plan to sell his stake in the World Cup to private investors.

The international football federation has established a company called FIFA Forward Enterprise, which aims to sell 20 percent of the ownership rights to the tournament.

The story will be updated.
