Another round of negotiations between Lebanon and Israel has begun

According to Arab media, the Lebanese delegation is preparing to present new demands to the Israeli side. The representatives of Lebanon, in particular, demand the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the cities of Bint-Jubail, Khiam, Zatar al-Sharqiya in the south of the country, as well as from a part of An-Nabatia province.

The parties signed the framework agreement on the cessation of hostilities on June 26 in Washington. After that, however, Beirut and Tel-Aviv continued to blame each other for not fulfilling the terms of the document. The Israeli side demanded the immediate disarmament of the pro-Iranian Hezbollah movement. The Lebanese government announced that despite the signed document, Israel continues to attack the southern regions of the country.

Lebanon was drawn into the Middle East war on March 2 when the Western-designated terrorist group Hezbollah attacked Israel in retaliation for the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in US and Israeli airstrikes. Hezbollah’s attack led to a new ground and air attack by Israel.
