Disney makes clips of its movies and series available to content producers

Disney and Tiktok have entered into a cooperation agreement, which allows social media content producers to use excerpts from Disney series and films as well as the productions of the studios it owns in their videos.

The news agency Reuters and the British Broadcasting Corporation report on the matter, among others BBC.

As a result of the collaboration, content producers will be able to use material from hundreds of Disney films and series. In the future, for example, familiar scenes from Star Wars, Toy Story and Marvel productions can be used in Tiktok videos with the permission of the copyright holder.

Cooperation starts in the United States, after which it is planned to expand to other countries as well.

The agreement also includes the fact that selected videos will be published both on Tiktok and on the Disney+ streaming service. At the same time, Disney continues its investments in vertical video content.

The Verts feature, introduced in the United States in March, brings to the Disney+ service a vertical video feed familiar from Tiktok, where users can browse short video clips made from movies and series. The feature is currently only available in the US.

I tiktok according to the platform, an average of 6.5 million videos related to movies and television series were published on the platform last year.

In the past, videos made by Tiktok users could be removed due to copyright claims if they used scenes from movies or series without permission. According to the companies, the aim of the new collaboration is to facilitate the creation of fan content.

In March, Disney and Open AI signed a billion dollar deal the cooperation agreement expired, when AI company Open AI stopped developing its Sora AI video generator. The purpose of the agreement was to enable the use of Disney characters in videos created by artificial intelligence and to utilize the technology in the Disney+ streaming service.
