German court sentences Afghan man to life in prison for attack

The court found a “particularly serious guilt”, which makes it difficult for the convict to leave prison after serving 15 years of sentence if he has a positive opinion and good behavior.

According to information from EFE Agency, the judges came to the conclusion that the convict deliberately advanced against the protesters with the purpose of killing as many people as possible.

“By this he intended to demonstrate his worth before himself, Allah and his family,” said court president Michael Höhne.

In the accused’s perception, according to the court, the crime corresponded to the will of Allah and was a reaction to what was done by the USA and other Western countries in Gaza and Afghanistan.

The prosecution had requested life imprisonment, while the defense requested a sentence of less than 15 years and the hospitalization of the accused in a psychiatric hospital.
