European Athletics Championships: Bremm wins silver in the 5,000 meters

For Bremm it is the first European Championship medal and at the same time the greatest success of his career. Ingebrigtsen (13:15.29 minutes), who was plagued by Achilles tendon problems this year, overtook Bremm (13:15.60 minutes) in the last few meters. The Frenchman Etienne Daguinos came third.

Bremm has already made people sit up and take notice this season

Although Bremm has little experience on the big athletics stage, the medal is no surprise, at least given his performances this season. With 12:56.80 minutes he was number three in Europe this year.

Bremm won his first medal in the men’s 5,000 meters since Richard Ringer, who celebrated bronze in Amsterdam in 2016 and wants to shine in the marathon distance in Birmingham. The last German European Championship gold over 5,000 meters was won by Dieter Baumann in 1994.
