The global infrastructure market for so-called sovereign artificial intelligence—systems in which computing power, data and critical infrastructure are controlled nationally—could grow from $24.8 billion in 2026 to $301.6 billion by 2040. This forecast is provided by ResearchAndMarkets.

The growth is due to the fact that states are seeking to place sensitive data and AI models within their own jurisdiction. This increases the demand for national cloud platforms, GPU clusters, cybersecurity systems, power supply and cooling of data centers.

The largest technology companies are already adapting to this market: NVIDIA is expanding national AI infrastructure projects, and Microsoft and AWS are developing cloud solutions taking into account the requirements of individual countries.

The market is forecast to grow fastest in the Asia-Pacific region, at approximately 23% per year until 2040.
