Pakistani Ambassador to Moscow: Iran will be able to join the “Islamic NATO”

The Joint Defense Treaty, which has already been dubbed the “Muslim NATO,” was signed by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey on August 7. According to the pact, an attack on one of the alliance states will be considered an attack on the alliance as a whole.

Official Tehran regarded it as directed against Iran, but representatives of the states included in the agreement stated that it was purely defensive in nature. For now, it has not been deployed to respond to Houthi strikes on Saudi Arabia.
