A Chinese robot has set a world record for running

The humanoid robot created by the Chinese company Honor, which was named “Lightning”, set a world record for running, covering 100 meters in 9.32 seconds, Reuters reported, referring to the Chinese state broadcaster.

Preparing for the Second World Games of Humanoid Robots starting today in Beijing, “Lightning” developed a speed of 14.5 meters per second during a test run.

The world record for 100 meters is Jamaican Usain Boltin, who covered this distance in 9.58 seconds at the 2009 World Athletics Championships in Berlin.

The height of “Lightning” is 1 meter 69 centimeters, the length of the legs is 1 meter 5 centimeters, CCTV reported.
