An 18-year-old man armed with a machete attacked students at a Swedish high school on Friday, killing one person and injuring three, before being shot and arrested by police.
According to the media, the attackč is a former student of that school.
The incident happened on Friday afternoon at Brinell High School in the town of Fagerst in central Sweden, which has about 13,000 inhabitants. The school just opened after the summer holidays, and for some of the students it was the first day of classes.
“We received a report at 2:06 p.m. about suspected deadly violence and sent all available forces to the school,” a police spokesman told Reuters.
The police said at the press conference that the suspect is an 18-year-old man who was shot and taken into custody.
The public service SVT, referring to unnamed sources, reported that the attacks a former student of the school, and he wore a mač and a helmet. Once it’s overć was convicted of assault, SVT stated.
The local health authority announced that the two victims were teenagers who were seriously injured. The third injured person was released from the hospital.
