Power supply: Reul: Police continue to search for sabotage suspects

According to NRW Interior Minister Herbert Reul, the police are still searching for the author of several letters claiming responsibility for attempts to sabotage the electricity supply. “We are checking whether the author actually had anything to do with the crimes. We are checking whether he acted alone or whether others were involved,” said the CDU politician.

As of now, the letters are considered authentic, said Reul. The man is still being searched for. But Reul also warned: “If someone puts his name underneath it, he is not necessarily the person responsible.” They are checking whether the man acted alone and whether there are connections to incidents in Brandenburg.

Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt (CSU) said: “According to the current status, we have to assume climate extremism here.”
